Mental Health Corner
Why do people in the year 2025 still find it difficult to talk about mental health with people in their lives? Mental health stigma is very much still alive. If a person needs help for a physical condition like asthma or diabetes, they seek out help and talk about it with their loved ones. With mental health struggles they often find themselves struggling to find the words to describe what is going on, or feel embarrassed due to cultural expectations or other reasons. Talking about thoughts and feelings in general is no easy feat. What we can do is be there for our loved ones and friends. Help get them the help they need. Gradually, mental health stigma would be a thing of the past.

Struggling with an addiction often feels like the end of the road. It’s like waking up each day knowing how the day will end up. There is no end in sight when it feels like life or death. To make matters worse, all everyone sees when they look at you is the addict, not the person. For the person, they are a person with a struggle, with a disease, but they are still a person who feels pain, who needs love, who needs to be loved, who needs to be healthy, who needs joy. To anyone struggling with an addiction, there is hope, there is an end in sight, there is help, ask for help.
